We loved our holiday in Fodele. We have always made it a rule not to revisit a place twice but we are making Daisy an exception this time! We have booked Daisy fo another two weeks next year.
I wouldn't want to change Daisy in any way. We found the blinds and fly screens so effective that we didn't need to use the air-conditioning at all! We kept the windows open when we were in the house and felt very comfortable

We had an absolutely lovely time in Daisy. This is the first holiday where I didn't cook one meal,as the Tavernas were so good especially Domenicos whose ice cream is the best in the world,even better than Italian. We visited Hania, Elounda (what a view as you come over the hill of the bay below,that will live with me for ever) Spingalonga Island,Knossus, the Lasithi Plateau (where I sampled a chip omlet- not intentionally !!)and Matala.
Your home is lovely and the village was everything we were hoping for. The Cretan people are so friendly and welcoming even outside of the village,in hania we were given a raki in one of the harbour tavernas and the lady on the beach at Fodele from the Taverna with the orange umbrellas was lovely.
Helen and Ken were very hospitable and always available with advice and suggestions.
We enjoyed it so much that we are going back in October when unfortunately Daisy is booked so we are staying in Ken and Helen's apartment. Unfortunately we left at the start of the celebrations for a village wedding but we were lucky enough to see all the preparations.
Thank you so much for allowing us to use Daisy. You are so lucky to be part of such a lovely community.

We had a wonderful holiday and really enjoyed our stay in Daisy and Mandarin Grove generally. Fodele is a lovely little village and the people, especially "Smoothy George" were very friendly.
Daisy was just what I expected from your description. No nasty surprises but did think it would be nice to have English TV channels if that is possible. (WE ARE LOOKING INTO IT FOR NEXT YEAR. THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION. Peter).

We rented Daisy for two months in December 2007 and January 2008. We loved Daisy and we found her very comfortable for a long term winter let.It is very reasonable in price because you live as a "local". We have fallen in love with this unique unspoilt village and we have never gone home ! We now rent an apartment on a 15 year lease and the life is absolute heaven. We can recommend Daisy and Fodele without reservation.

Your place in Crete ; well it's kinda neat ; really reet petite ; friendly locals to meet ; with all sizes of feet ; Tavernas are a treat ; Cretan delicacies and sweet ; Service Managers to greet ; rest for tired feet ; plenty of sun and heat ; pretty hard to beat ; the welcome is complete.
