Daisy Weve always said we would never holiday in the same place twice,Daisy has changed that, super apartment, great location, lovely village, warm & friendly people, good tavernas, great weather,Paul & Angie super hosts with great knowledge of the Island.W'ell be back.John & Sue Wills. Posted by john wills on 29 September 2011 Our stay - 12-25 August What a magical place Fodele is. We were fortunate that there was a super group of people staying at mandarin grove at the same time as us. Paul and Angie were great and arranged a lovely bbq for us all one evening. The village is everything all the other posts say, charming, friendly and so lovely to be in a quiet location, but so close to a choice of tavernas etc. We hope to return in a few years (and that is a first for us, we have never gone back anywhere before). Posted by mary tierney on 26 August 2011 Our holiday in Daisy Summer 2011 We had a wonderful time. We loved the village, Mandarin Grove, the pool and Daisy. Daisy was really comfortable......exactly what we wanted and even more. We made friends with a family with 2 girls(aged 10 and 5)who Matthew and Leon got on with very well. They were staying in Poppy and the children were in and out of the villas, jumping in and out of the pool and in the evening playing on the bridge while we relaxed at Smoothy George's.Because the children were so occupied, we were actually able to relax during the day and in the evening. The freezer worked wonderfully. Exactly the right amount of space and it kept everything frozen (even during the odd power cut....)Thank you again for all your work in getting it there for us. We didn't do a great deal of touring about which was fine as we wanted quite a simple holiday without too much that might trouble Matthew. However I think that were we to come again,we would probably hire a car so that we could see a little more of the surrounding area. We did go to Water City (arranged by Paul). We all really enjoyed it and were very brave ! Nick even went down the fastest one - the Kamikaze ! Paul and Angie, the service managers, were great by the way. We had glorious weather for the whole 2 weeks (I watered your rose at the back a few times), got lovely and brown and arrived back to what felt like winter in England ! Thanks again for all your help - hopefully we can go back to Fodele soon Best wishes Olivia Posted by Olivia on 17 August 2011 modern house in quaint village Daisy is a lovely compact house with plenty of terraces and balconies to sit in either the sun or shade, dependent on your preference. Ours was to sit on the bedroom balcony at night, looking at the night sky as we discussed the day' events, while sharing a night cap and listening to the sounds of the local animals. Or you may choose to lounge by the pool, which sits near to the entrance of this secluded group of 4 houses and 4 flats. The property is well maintained and kept spotlessly clean by the friendly managers, Paul and Angie, who will take great delight in looking after you throughout your stay, giving you tips and information. It is a pleasant, short stroll across the river into the centre of the idyllic village, with its Tavernas and friendly locals, who will all welcome and greet you with open arms. If you are lucky, your stay may coincide with a local wedding which if you can last the pace, will provide an entertaining evening long into the wee small hours. While there we celebrated our grand daughter's birthday with a party at Smoothies. From Fodele, a short drive will take you to the many other beautiful locations - try it before the teenagers wake up. Bali (Mpali)with its different beaches or Georgiou with its scenic mountain lakeside. If you are there with kids you should take a day pass on the Water Park which is part of Fodele Beach Hotel. A nominal charge of 80 Euros which includes the cost of all drinks, snacks and ice creams thoughout the day for 2 adults and 2 kids makes an enjoyable day out. We look forward to returning one day soon Posted by Dougie and Maureen on 17 August 2011 Our third visit to Fodele We had a great time. It takes 3 visits to explore the tavernas. The new Service Managers are a delight and we feel it is our second home. The locals know us and we seem to know more people than in England. It is easy to reach all of Crete We cannot wait to return. Posted by Elaine and Jayne on 10 July 2011 View All Posts, Ever! (Could be a long page!) |
